About the event

The Code Your Art class will introduce students to the foundations of coding. This class will be using Scratch, which is a great way to start programming, as it uses block coding allowing them to gain understanding of concepts such as loops and algorithms. The class will follow a code-along format, teaching them basics of coding and focusing on building the logic that is required to create programs. A sheet with the information regarding how to use the block coding in specific languages with differing syntaxes. It also engages them in fun projects along the way, including a digital whiteboard, animating their name, and the game Flappy Bird!

Once they are adept with the concepts taught in the class and using scratch, the concepts can then be implemented with the knowledge of a syntax for a specific language.
